Article 1 (Purpose)

These terms set out the conditions and procedures for using Nag Budget (the "Service") and the rights and duties of the Company and its users.

Article 2 (Definitions)

Article 3 (Effect and amendment)

  1. These terms take effect when posted inside the app or on this page.
  2. The Company may amend them within the limits of applicable law.
  3. Amendments are posted here with an effective date. Changes unfavourable to users are announced at least 7 days before they take effect.
  4. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the amended terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the Service and close your account.

Article 4 (Formation of the contract)

  1. The contract is formed when you accept these terms and start the Service in one of two ways:
    • Signing in with a Google account
    • Starting without signing in (an anonymous account held on the device)
  2. Children under 14 may not use the Service.
  3. The Company may decline an application, or later restrict use, where it would interfere with operating the Service.
An anonymous account cannot be recovered. If you start without signing in, the account details live on the device alone. Uninstall the app or change devices and there is no way back into that account or the records in it. Link a Google account in your profile to keep them.

Article 5 (What the Service provides)

The Company may add to or change what the Service provides, and announces material changes inside the app.

Article 6 (Provision and interruption)

  1. The Service is provided around the clock as a rule.
  2. It may be suspended temporarily for maintenance, replacement, failure, loss of connectivity or an outage at an external service.
  3. The Company may discontinue the Service. In that case it announces the closure inside the app at least 30 days in advance and allows time for users to review their records.

Article 7 (Rights in your records)

  1. Records you write belong to you. The Company stores and displays them only to the extent needed to provide the Service.
  2. The Company does not use your records for advertising or hand them to third parties.
  3. You can edit or delete records inside the app at any time.

Article 8 (Who can see what)

Where the record livesWho can see it
Your personal ledgerYou, and friends you both accepted
A shared ledgerIts approved members
A pending join requestThe ledger name and member count only. Entries and nags stay hidden.
  1. This scope is enforced by server security rules, not by the app screen.
  2. Removing a friend or leaving a ledger hides everything that follows.
  3. You are the one setting the audience, and you write records knowing that. Clean up anything you would not want shown before adding a friend or joining a shared ledger.

Article 9 (The ledger owner)

  1. Whoever creates a shared ledger becomes its owner.
  2. The owner approves or rejects join requests, removes members, and deletes the ledger.
  3. The owner cannot leave their own ledger. A ledger with no owner has nobody to approve members and nobody to delete it. To step away, hand ownership to another member or delete the ledger.
  4. Deleting a ledger removes its entries and nags for every member. This cannot be undone.
  5. Entries a member wrote can be deleted by that member. The owner does not edit other people's entries on their behalf.

Article 10 (Nags)

Nags are written by people. A nag in this app is not a phrase the Company or an AI attaches. It is a line another user in the same ledger, or you, typed. Responsibility for its content lies with whoever wrote it.
  1. Nags exist to make saving money a little more social.
  2. Insults, threats, discrimination, harassment, sexual content and disclosure of personal data are prohibited.
  3. The Company may delete a reported nag or restrict the account that wrote it.
  4. You can cut someone off immediately by removing them as a friend or leaving the ledger.

Article 11 (Prohibited conduct)

On confirmation of a violation, the Company may restrict use or terminate the contract without prior notice.

Article 12 (Notice about financial records)

  1. The Service only gathers and displays values you typed. It does not connect to bank or card accounts.
  2. Totals and categories on screen are for reference. They are not tax, accounting or financial advice, and they are not official supporting documents.
  3. The Service does not recommend or broker financial products.
  4. The Company does not warrant the accuracy of the values you entered.

Article 13 (Notice about one-line interpretation)

  1. Splitting one typed line into several entries and assigning categories runs on rules inside the device and can be wrong.
  2. Amounts, dates and categories may land incorrectly, so check the list after saving. Tap a wrong item to fix or delete it.
  3. The Company is not responsible for decisions made on the basis of that interpretation.

Article 14 (Notifications)

  1. A notification may be sent when a member of the same ledger records an expense.
  2. Income never triggers a notification.
  3. Notifications can be turned off in device settings at any time; everything else keeps working.

Article 15 (Advertising and paid features)

  1. The Company may place advertising in the Service to support its operation.
  2. Before introducing advertising or opening paid features, the Company amends these terms and the privacy policy and announces it inside the app in advance.
  3. The Company is not responsible for the outcome of a user taking part in an advertiser's promotion or transacting with an advertiser.

Article 16 (Termination)

  1. You may close your account at any time from profile, then delete account inside the app. The Delete My Data page describes the same steps.
  2. Closing your account deletes the account and your personal records irreversibly.
  3. Entries you left in a shared ledger stay with that ledger. Delete them yourself first if you want them gone.
  4. Shared ledgers you own are deleted along with your account. Their entries and nags disappear for the other members too. The app names those ledgers before you confirm.
  5. Abuse reports are retained after closure for the operational purpose in Article 10.

Article 17 (Limitation of liability)

  1. The Company is not liable for loss caused by events beyond its control, such as natural disasters, network failures or outages at external services.
  2. The Company is not liable for consequences of a user failing to record something, or recording it incorrectly.
  3. The Company has no duty to intervene in disputes between users arising from nags or sharing. It will, however, act under Article 10 on receiving a report.
  4. The Company is not liable for recovering records a user deleted themselves.
  5. Loss of records held in an anonymous account is covered by the notice in Article 4.

Article 18 (Intellectual property)

Rights in the Service and its design, marks and copy belong to the Company. Rights in the records and nags a user writes belong to that user.

Article 19 (Governing law and jurisdiction)

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Korea. Disputes arising from use of the Service are brought before the court having jurisdiction under the Civil Procedure Act.

Article 20 (Contact)
